About the mobile phone: The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T has been in German stores since September 2019. It lists good specifications for an entry-level device: an IPS display in FHD + resolution, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The Snapdragon 655 delivers good performance for an entry-level device, plus the 4,000 mAh battery and fast charging function via USB-C with up to 18 W.

There is a jack socket, the quad rear camera takes photos in up to 48 MP and can even record 4K video , the front camera at least has a resolution of 13 MP. The memory can be expanded using a micro SD card. The design is chic, there is a fingerprint sensor on the back. The colleagues from AndroidPit rate the device with a grade of 4.5 out of 5. The mobile phone is, like the tariff, a real price-performance hit .

The tariff costs at a glance:

  • Monthly basic fee: 24 x 10.49 euros
  • One-time additional payment for the smartphone: 13 euros
  • Connection price: free
  • Shipping costs: 4.86 euros
  • Total costs after a contract period of 24 months: 269.62 euros

Calculated: What is the contract good for?

Let's get the abacus out: If you use the contract for the minimum contract period of 24 months, the costs are 24 × 10.49 euros basic fee + 13 euros additional payment for the device. There are also 4.86 euros in shipping costs. The Curved Shop waives a connection fee, if you take your old phone number with you, you will receive a credit of 10 euros, but we do not include that. So a total of 269.62 euros .

According to idealo.de, the cell phone currently costs at least around 150 euros. If you subtract this value and the € 30 voucher from the total costs, you get a calculated cost of € 89.75 – purely for the tariff without hardware for the entire term over 24 months. That is the equivalent of 3.73 euros a month purely for the tariff – that is really impressive in view of the services offered.

Do not forget to terminate the contract in good time. Why? Frank explains that to you in this video:
