Smartphones with exchangeable battery have become quite rare in recent years. Now a German manufacturer is venturing into the old concept and presents two Android smartphones at once, where the battery can be quickly replaced. The mobile phones are also still cheap.

New Gigaset mobile phones with exchangeable battery presented

Gigaset has introduced two new smartphones that are assembled in Germany and have an important unique selling point. In both models, the battery can be replaced “with just a few simple steps”, as the manufacturer writes. There is also a repair service directly at the production site in Bocholt (North Rhine-Westphalia) and other locations, which is free of charge for three months.

For the new Gigaset GS3, only 179 euros will be charged. For this price, there’s a replaceable battery that has a capacity of 4,000 mAh and can also be charged wirelessly. The display offers a diagonal of 6.1 inches, but only resolves with HD+. The screen is interrupted by a notch, behind which the Selfie camera is hidden (8 MP). The dual camera on the back can take photos at 13 MP and 8 MP.
