OnePlus Nord: Cell phone becomes a bestseller
The Chinese manufacturer OnePlus started out very small, but can now point to a certain size in some countries. India is one of the markets in which OnePlus is an indispensable part of smartphone life. This is also confirmed by new figures that Counterpoint Research has now published. These are likely to have surprised the OnePlus executive suite as well, because such a success was probably not expected.
There was no way around the OnePlus North in the third quarter of 2020. In the upper middle class, no cell phone has been able to sell better than the inexpensive OnePlus Nord, which in India outperformed the competition from Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi in the range between 230 and 345 euros. The sales of the more expensive OnePlus 8 are also impressive, with other manufacturers still ahead.
The success of the OnePlus Nord is not yet noticeable in the market share in India. Here the manufacturer is still summarized under "Other". Oppo, on the other hand, was able to increase its share from 8 to 10 percent within one year, while Xiaomi, Vivo and Realme fell slightly. Only Samsung grew faster in the same period, for the South Korean producer it went up by 4 percentage points.

OnePlus Nord: The price-performance monster
With the Nord, OnePlus has presented a really good smartphone that, although not able to compete with 1,000-euro cell phones, was still very well received by customers. The 90 Hertz display is just as pleasing as the fast Snapdragon 765G. Thanks to the fast charging mode, the battery can be charged to 70 percent in just 30 minutes. In Germany, the cell phone is offered from 399 euros .
