In Germany, the expansion of the cell phone network is being pushed forward. But how good is the coverage of Telekom, Vodafone and o2 actually in your region? This is exactly what can now be viewed on an independent map.
Telephone, Vodafone and o2: network coverage on one map
The Federal Network Agency has launched a map on which, for the first time, the network coverage of all three mobile phone providers in Germany can be viewed simultaneously. Up to now it was only possible to look at the individual networks with the distinction between 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G. This means that you can see at a glance how good the network is where you live or where you spend most of your time, and on the basis of this information you can then decide which network is best for you.
We always give this recommendation in our tariff deals. If you know which network is best developed for you, simply select the appropriate tariff. It doesn’t always have to be Telekom , which of course costs more, it can also be CO2, which can save you a lot of money and still get a good network. With the new card, you can make this decision more easily – and so do many. Shortly after starting the map for network coverage of the Federal Network Agency, the site is completely overloaded and no longer works. So if you want to go to the map, follow this link . But it could be that it is not working at the moment. The Federal Network Agency is already working on a solution to restore availability.
How to find out how good a cell phone plan is:
The Federal Network Agency has recently put the mobile operators in Germany under great pressure so that the 4G expansion in Germany achieves the coverage that was promised. You can then use this card to see for yourself whether that worked. Now it just has to work.
