Skullcandy has announced a new pair of super-cheap earbuds: the Skullcandy Dime true wireless earbuds. Available for a reasonable $24.99, these earbuds are for budget consumers who want something simple and functional. Don’t be fooled by the cheap price, though: they sport premium features like an IPX4 water-resistance rating.
The Dime earbuds boast 3.5 hours of playback on a single charge and the case provides an extra 8.5 hours of playtime. Listeners may use the included micro-USB cable to charge the case. The case can’t rapid charge the earbuds, but it takes just one hour to complete a full charge cycle. A short lanyard extends from the case, making it easy for anyone to chain it to the outside of a bag.
The Skullcandy Dime operate via Bluetooth 5.0 and support just the SBC Bluetooth codec. They automatically connect to the last-used source device, but can’t connect to two devices at once. Listeners can take control of media, calls, and smart assistant access directly from the onboard controls. The Skullcandy Dime earbuds aren’t supported by the Skullcandy app, so listeners are wed to the default controls.

Although the earbuds feature an Apple AirPods-like stemmed design, they seal to the ear and include a host of ear tips. A sealed design optimizes fit and sound quality by blocking out background noise. This makes it easier for you to focus on your music. The Dime supports mono listening, and each earbud houses microphone for mono phone calls.
The Skullcandy Dime true wireless earbuds are available in four color variants: dark blue/green, light grey/blue, dark grey, and true black. Interested? You can buy them today for $24.99. And yes, that’s a bit more than a dime, but also cheaper than a 12-piece chicken family meal from Popeye’s.
