What is this show all about?
You may remember that in the end credit sequence for the final episode of The Mandalorian season 2, we saw Boba Fett enter the remains of Jabba The Hut’s palace on Tatooine, along with his mercenary companion Fennec Shand. He shoots Jabba’s former right-hand alien Bib Fortuna, and quietly sits himself down on Jabba’s throne. Disney and Lucasfilm haven’t given much extra info on this show’s story beyond that Boba and Fennec will be “navigating the galaxy’s underworld” during the series.
Who is starring in The Book of Boba Fett?
Right now, all we know is that Temuera Morrison, who played Boba Fett on Season 2 of The Mandalorian, will return to play the title role. Morrison actually played Boba’s dad, Jango Fett, in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. Ming-Na Wen also returns as mercenary, and now Boba’s right-hand person, Fennec Shand. Her character debuted in an episode of the first season of The Mandalorian. She seemed to be shot dead at the end of that episode, but in the second season, we learn she was revived by Boba, with some cyborg tech.
Who else is involved in The Book of Boba Fett?
This spin-off show will have most of the same behind-the-scenes crew who made the first two seasons of The Mandalorian. That includes executive producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, who will also be directing episodes of the show. Actor Bryce Dallas Howard, who directed episodes for both seasons of The Mandalorian, will also be back to direct an episode of The Book of Boba Fett. Robert Rodriguez (Spy Kids, Sin City, Alita: Battle Angel), who directed an episode of The Mandalorian season 2, will reportedly be back to direct several episodes of The Book of Boba Fett.
Finally, Ludwig Göransson, who has won two Emmy Awards for his work composing the music score for The Mandalorian, is also coming back to handle the music for The Book of Boba Fett. We can’t wait to hear his main theme for this show.
Are there more Mandalorian spin-offs coming?
Yep! Disney and Lucasfilm have already announced Star Wars: Ashoka is in the works. It will star Rosario Dawson as fan-favorite Jedi Knight Ashoka Tano. Dawson played the character in a second season episode of The Mandalorian. However, another announced spin-off, Star Wars: Rangers of the New Republic, is reportedly no longer in active development, according to an article in Variety.
When is the first Book of Boba Fett trailer coming out?
We don’t have any official word on when that might happen, but if we were betting people, we would put our money on November 12 for a first look trailer. That happens to be Disney Plus Day, which will see the streaming service debut a number of major original series and movies, along with some future show and film announcements.
That’s all we have at the moment on The Book of Boba Fett. We will update this article when we have more information.
