We’ve done our best to cover the full range of options. You may know Nest best for its thermostats, they’re only the tip of the iceberg. Ready to make your home a little smarter? Let’s go.

The best Google Nest products:

Editor’s note: We’ll add new Nest products to this list as they launch.

Hello video doorbell

The first thing most people will see as they approach your front door is the doorbell. Now, with Nest’s Hello doorbell, you can see them too. This video doorbell replaces your current wired setup, and it brings HD video right to your phone at all hours of the day and night. The Nest Hello doorbell is one of our favorite products for its ease of use, and all you have to do is connect it to your home Wi-Fi.

If you should have a package stolen or someone pranks your house, you can review the last three hours of footage at any time. You can also add a Nest Aware subscription for $6 per month that gives you more access to camera history as well as alerts.

Nest Protect

Another great way to keep your home safe is with the Nest Protect system. While the Hello doorbell is mainly focused on security that you can see, Nest Protect is all about the trouble you can’t see — namely smoke and carbon monoxide. It’s a flexible smart home accessory that’s jam-packed with sensors. You can also silence the alarm directly from your phone just in case there’s only a little bit of smoke.

The Nest Protect earns its place as one of the best Google Nest products for its flexibility as well as its ease of use. You can choose from wired or battery-powered versions, and the Protect speaks to you in a human voice rather than a blaring siren.

Nest Cam security cameras

Google’s Nest security cameras are nearly as popular as its thermostats, and you have plenty of options to choose from. Whether you want a little extra indoor or outdoor peace of mind, there’s a Nest Cam for you. Both versions offer 1080p HD video feed at all hours both day and night. You can also grab multi-packs to rig up your whole home.

The indoor and outdoor cameras are very similar for the most part. You’ll get a 130-degree field of view and up to 8-times zoom on both models. One key difference between the two is that the Nest Cam outdoor is waterproof to stand up to the weather.

Nest Audio

Your home has to be secure by now with all of these Nest security options, so let’s get into the fun stuff. Google’s Nest Audio speaker is one of the newest members of the family, and it’s all about the music. You can choose from five different color finishes, and the Nest Audio can team up with your other speakers for a whole-home experience.

The Nest Audio is one of our favorite Nest products for the handy privacy features that come built-in. You can easily ask Google to delete a record of what you just said, or you can always use the Nest Audio to broadcast messages throughout your home.

Nest Hub Max

Another great in-home entertainment option is the Nest Hub Max. It’s a smart display paired up with a speaker, which makes it great for watching YouTube videos. You can also use your Nest Hub Max as a smart picture frame and shuffle through your favorite memories. It only comes in two color options, but the 10-inch display is the real star of the show.

The Nest Hub Max is a great way to keep in touch with your family and friends, too. Google’s smart display packs a front-facing camera that you can use to video call just about anyone.

Learning Thermostat

We’ve finally reached the product that put Nest on the map. The Learning Thermostat is a smart way to heat and cool your home and it even learns your preferences. Google boasts that just about anyone should be able to install a Learning Thermostat in 30 minutes, too. You can control the temperature right from the palm of your hand and Nest’s thermostats can revert to an eco setting while you’re out and about.

Although most Nest products come in just a few shades, the Learning Thermostat is available in a variety of colors to match your home. You can go for black, silver, gold, and even a few shades of steel.

Nest Wi-Fi

If you’re going to fill your house with Google Nest products, you’ll need a way to connect them all. After all, the speakers and cameras have to stay on the internet at all times. Luckily for you, Google’s Nest Wi-Fi does the trick. It’s a mesh system, which means that you should be able to blanket your whole home with reliable service.

Like many Nest products, you can grab a single router or pick up a few at a time. The device itself looks like a white LEGO head, so you should be able to make it blend in without much trouble.

Chromecast with Google TV

One final Google Nest product for your consideration is a rare choice without Nest in its name. The new Chromecast with Google TV is a great way to take charge of the rest of your devices and control them from one central location. You can install all of the necessary companion apps and use Google’s helpful new remote.
