Amazon has its 4-series Fire TV sets on sale right now, as low as $269.99. So you can get a new TV, that doesn’t suck, without breaking the bank.
The Amazon 4-series Fire TV is available in three sizes, all of which are on sale right now. The 43-inch model is on sale for $269, down from $369. The 50-inch model is on sale for $329, that’s down from its original price of $469. Then finally, we have the 55-inch Amazon 4-series Fire TV on sale for $379, which was originally $519.
These are the cheaper of the two Amazon Fire TV lines that Amazon debuted a few months ago. This 4-series is meant for “everyday entertainment” according to Amazon. Basically, it’s a cheaper, but not terrible TV experience.
There is 4K support here with HDR as well. There’s support for HDR10 and HLG. No Dolby Vision here, that is saved for the Amazon Omni Series, which are also on sale.
Dolby Atmos is also missing here, but since there is an HDMI eARC port on the back of this TV, you can plug in something like a Sonos Beam and get Dolby Atmos. Otherwise, you’re getting Dolby Digital plus, which isn’t too bad sounding actually.
As far as ports go, we have three HDMI 2.0 ports and an HDMI eARC 2.1 port available. There is also an Ethernet port available if you’d like to hardwire your TV to your router for better streaming. But of course, there is WiFi support here.
One thing that this TV is missing, however, is hands-free Alexa. That may be a plus for some people, since Alexa won’t be always listening. There is still an Alexa button on your remote though.
Finally, these are Fire TV models, so you can watch all of your favorite shows from your favorite apps here. This includes Hulu, Disney+, ESPN+, Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video and much more.
